The Danish Society for Hospital Hygiene and Sterile Supply

Denmark

The Danish Society for Hospital Hygiene and Sterile Supply was founded in 1969 as a multidisciplinary forum for persons interested in hospital hygiene, sterile supply and related subjects. The society has a close collaboration with the corresponding Scandinavian societies and is a member of The International Federation for Infection Control (IFIC).

The members are individuals and institutions who are active within the sphere of interest of the society. The individual members may be nurses, physicians, pharmacists, engeneers and hospital administrators. Among the institutions both hospitals and companies within the health care sector are represented.

The main activity of the society is an annual conference, held in the beginning of November in Nyborg in the center of Denmark. The 3-day conference attracts approx. 225 participants. Actual subjects are discussed during planned sessions, free lectures, posters, excibitions etc. The greatest importance is attached to experiences and research results that may have a immediate practical use in the daily practice in hospitals. Companies have a possibility to exhibit their products. As a supplement to the scientific programme a suitable social programme is included and it gives a good possibility for informal discussions and contacts.
