Dear colleagues
Dear supporters and friends,

The First National Sterile Supply Symposium organized by the Bulgarian Sterile Supply Association BulSteri is already a fact and also a proof that our young association established only just a few months ago on 3 September 2004 is already making its first steps.

The enthusiasm of the founding members all of whom are well aware of the crucial role of sterile supply workers, which is an essential part of good medical practice in the 21st century, received broad public support. We are very grateful to the Ministry of Health and especially to the Minister of Health, under whose auspices this first public event is taking place. Furthermore, we would like to express our gratitude to the Bulgarian-Swiss Hospital Hygiene Programme, the Swiss and German experts and the Hygia-BSHHP Association team for being so supportive in the establishing process and the organization�s first activities.

The invitation to membership in the European Forum for Hospital Sterile Supply is a tremendous kick-off launch for our association, all the more so that it is an indisputable proof of the international support which is much needed in the transitional period of Bulgaria�s EC accession.

First Bulgarian "Sterilization" Workshop
Sofia, Bulgaria
On the occasion of the foundation of the Bulgarian Sterile Supply Association (BulSteri) and the admission into the EFHSS, the first Bulgarian workshop for hospital sterile supply takes place in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, under the patronage of the Bulgarian Health Ministry in cooperation with the National Centre for Infection Control, the European Forum for Hospital Sterile Supply (EFHSS) and the Bulgarian-Swiss Hospital Hygiene Programme (BSHHP).
