In case of overdose, cardiovascular support should be provided. Blood pressure can be lowered by lying down, and if necessary, volume expanders can be administered to combat hypotension. Dialysis is unlikely to be helpful as Flomax is highly bound to plasma proteins.<\/p>\n
Flomax should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep the capsules in their original container and out of reach of children.<\/p>\n
If Flomax therapy is discontinued for several days at either the 0.4 mg or 0.8 mg dose, therapy should be restarted with the 0.4 mg once daily dose.<\/p>\n
Regular monitoring of blood pressure and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels is recommended during treatment with Flomax. Monitor for signs and symptoms of orthostatic hypotension.<\/p>\n
Flomax can cause intraoperative floppy iris syndrome (IFIS) during cataract surgery. Patients planning cataract surgery should inform their ophthalmologist of current or past use of Flomax.<\/p>\n
