Dear Ahmed
Bacterial spores usually are found in the soil and dust, i.e. they can occur virtually in almost every environment e.g. clostridium tetani are occasionally found in the intestinal flora of human and animals.
All instruments that come to CSSD are contaminated with multiple sources for potential infection - bacteria, virus, fungi and SPORES.
Spores have an important role in the epidemiology of certain human diseases such as anthrax, tetanus and gas gangrene.
Therefore the irradiation of spores is of particualar importance in the sterilization of instruments prior to surgery.
Regards
Josy
