Subject: Surgical sutures

sirs,

what may be the reasons for the degradation of the PGA suture soon after one or two months of packing. Whether it is a packing defect or due to sterilisation problems?

Dear
You might find an answer to your question by reading the article "Synthetic Biodegradable Polymers as Medical Devices" spec. Packaging and Sterilization at www.devicelink.com/mpb/archive/98/03/002.html or do contact manufacturers of Polyglycolide sutures e.g. Davies ans Geck, Ethicon a.a.
Kind reagards
