Dear- all,
I have been using lubricating milk (surgislip, company- ruhof corporation) in cssd last 2 years.

I would like to know is it recommended practice to use lubricating milk in hospital cssd?

Waiting for your earliest reply with some recommendation.

Dear
Surgislip lubricant is specifically designed for use in automatic washers i.e. a suitable solution if followed by the manufacturer's instructions.
Using a lubricant "bath" be it milk or other lubricant solutions is not recommended. The container with the lubricant solution may contain particular bacteria from instruments dipped into this container earlier. Instead lubricant sprays, suitable for use in steam and ETO sterilization should be used.
For the correct use of lubricant please see under Education / Periodicals, ...: The red brochure; page 37 "Proper performance of care measures" and page 55 "Preventing measures".
The brochures is also available in pdf format for free download at: www.a-k-i.org
Kind regards

Dear Sudip,
Surgislip was created exactly for the purpose of medical equipment lubricating, and it is well recommended for all CSSD needs.
You should use it in 3 recommended ways:

  1. Inside your Washer Sterilizer, at the last phase.
  2. Spray it manually directly on the instruments (not diluted).
  3. Soak the instruments in a bath with diluted Surgislip solution (8 parts to one, with Distilled water only). Discard solution every 6 days, or if it looks dirty.

The first way is most recommended.
Good luck!
